Daniel Langendorf of Last 100 poses the question: "Is the Internet the fifth major TV network?"

Langendorf discusses online video dramas "LonelyGirl15" and "Prom Queen." The latter, he points out, "garnered nearly 15 million total views and generated substantial interactive response."

According to Jane Hu of the Tornante Company, "Prom Queen" induced 14,000 comments and over 21,000 forum postings. The Tornante Company was founded in 2005 by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, and launched a new media studio in March 2007 to produce "world-class content" for the Internet.

Earlier this year, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences created a collection of Broadband Emmy awards. NATAS even launched a MySpace promotion to to reach out to user-generated video producers.
