About the Author

Dr. Stanley Wolf is an internationally recognized expert on silicon processing. He earned a B.S. in Physics in New York and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at University of California Santa Barbara. Dr. Wolf wrote his first text, Guide to Electronic Measurements and Laboratory Practice, in 1973. Now in its Sixth Edition, it is the 2nd-oldest Electrical Engineering book currently published by Prentice-Hall.

Dr. Wolf worked at Hughes Aircraft in semiconductor research & development for several years. In 1980 he became a Professor of Electrical Engineering at California State University Long Beach.

Beginning in 1985, Dr. Wolf wrote and published a seminal series of books, SILICON PROCESSING FOR THE VLSI ERA - Vol. 1-4 . The first volume sold over 30,000 copies. It was called "the Bible of Silicon Processing," and "the book that trained a generation of process engineers."

Dr. Wolf taught a number of seminars on IC Fabrication that were offered by University of California Berkeley Extension. More than 4000 microlelectronic professionals have attended these popular seminars during the 20 years in which they were held. He continues to teach on-site seminars on state-of-the-art issues in semiconductor manufacture, including Deep-Submicron
